What is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy that is provided by a trained professional who listens and helps you to explore ways to deal with emotional issues.
What can I expect in the first session?
In the first session of therapy, the counsellor will ask what brought you to counselling and will also ask questions about your life and a brief personal history. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about counselling. At the end of the session, you can decide if you wish to continue with counselling.
What type of therapy is offered at Lá Nua?
Marysia is an integrated counsellor which means that she uses several methods of therapeutic interventions which include Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Marysia may also incorporate other methods if she feels they will benefit her clients.
How many sessions will I need?
Depending on the presenting issue, a minimum of 6 sessions would usually be recommended. This can usually be determined in the 2nd/3rd session when the goals of therapy are discussed.
